Lonnie D. Johnson is a Senior Partner at Clendening Johnson & Bohrer, P.C., where he has spent over thirty years guiding commercial and business litigation, construction disputes, personal-injury claims and insurance-defense matters in federal, bankruptcy and county courts throughout Indiana. He has secured forty-eight reported decisions, argued before the Indiana Supreme Court, the Indiana Court of Appeals and the U.S. Seventh Circuit, and regularly takes on pro hac vice cases beyond state lines. A prolific author and educator, Lonnie has published more than thirty articles on civil-litigation topics, served on the faculty of the North Central Region Trial Academy and speaks frequently at legal seminars. Alongside his trial work, he serves on The Mediation Group in Indianapolis—where he has shepherded over one hundred mediations—and holds memberships in the Indiana and American associations of mediators.

Lonnie’s peer-reviewed accolades place him among Indiana Super Lawyers (2009–2024), The Best Lawyers in America® (2012–2024) and senior fellowship in the Litigation Counsel of America (2009–2024), as well as numerous “Top Attorney” honors from state and national defense and civil-litigation organizations. A native Hoosier, he earned his J.D., cum laude, and B.A., summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa, from Indiana University—Bloomington, and an associate degree with Dean’s Honors in Mechanical Drafting & Design from Indiana Vocational Technical College. Active in the Indiana State Bar Association—where he chaired the Litigation Section and received its Civility Award—he has also led the Defense Trial Counsel of Indiana and held leadership roles in national bodies such as DRI, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel and the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys.
