About Alison Hicks

Raised in the nearby city of Helotes, Alison Hicks attended college at the University of Texas at Austin and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy and a minor in Government. After acquiring her degree, she moved to Austin where she served as a Legislative Aide for Representative Bill Callegari from Katy, TX.

As a front-line worker for the State House of Representatives, she gained invaluable insights into how laws were composed - from ideation to signing. This experience proved pivotal when she chose to pursue her legal ambitions. During her last two years in Austin, she worked with an influential lobbying firm that represented clients from varying backgrounds; ranging from municipal attorney Political Action Committees to daycare providers.

In 2003, Alison Hicks began her legal studies at St. Mary’s University in her hometown and participated in the renowned moot court program. She argued cases before illustrious appellate courts across the nation including New York City, Chicago, and Charleston, South Carolina prior to graduating from college. Afterward she won two trials - one at Texas Supreme Court and another at its Appellate Court. Her extensive experience with appeals has made Ms. Hicks an expert trial lawyer as well as ensured that any arguments for appeal remain intact throughout a case's journey.

During her time at St. Mary's University, Ms. Hicks was honored with the opportunity to serve as Student Bar Association President - a title awarded by her peers for outstanding leadership and dedication. Furthermore, she won the Patricia A Scott award for being an exceptional public speaker in addition to taking home first prize from the State Moot Court Competition after outlasting 15 other law schools before presenting their case to Texas' Supreme Court.
