About Claudia Canizares
Originally from Habana, Cuba, Claudia Canizares achieved Summa Cum Laude honors when she earned her Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice with a Minor in Psychology from Florida International University in 2009. In 2012, she graduated cum laude from Nova Southeastern University, attaining her Juris Doctor degree and gaining admission to the Florida Bar on September 19, 2012.
Commencing her legal career in Personal Injury, she later transitioned to Immigration Law, where she has been practicing since the start of 2013. Over the years, Mrs. Canizares has successfully handled numerous cases before USCIS and the immigration court. Her extensive case portfolio covers a range of immigration matters, including asylum applications, adjustment of status applications, waivers for unlawful presence, fraud, criminal issues, smuggling, cancellation of removal, special visas for crime victims, victims of domestic violence and juveniles, humanitarian deferred actions, TPS applications, Parole in Place, and more.
Having participated in USCIS interviews and court hearings across the United States, including Florida, California, Georgia, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Missouri, Nevada, Arizona, Minnesota, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Louisiana, Ms. Canizares has garnered a wealth of experience. Arriving in the U.S. at the age of 16, Mrs. Canizares faced detention at the southern border and underwent a lengthy immigration removal proceeding. Fortunately, she was granted lawful permanent residency. Though she didn't anticipate becoming an immigration attorney during her early years in the United States, her personal journey has provided her with the empathy needed to understand and assist the thousands of individuals she has served over the past decade as an immigration attorney.
