Charles, hailing from South Carolina, bore witness to a life-altering trauma during his early years when his family was involved in a devastating auto accident attributed to a vehicle defect. The aftermath of this incident left his parents with severe injuries and cast a profound shadow over Charles' childhood. His profound sense of helplessness in the face of his family's suffering ignited a relentless determination to advocate for those who lacked a voice.
Raised solely by his father, Dr. Buist, a dentist, Charles spent a significant portion of his formative years in a dental office and began working as a dental assistant at a young age. During this time, he encountered numerous distressing cases where patients sought his father's care after suffering injuries caused by other dentists. Charles bore witness to the tragic outcomes of carelessness and recklessness within the dental profession, with some patients enduring permanent harm.
These early life experiences, combined with his time in his father's dental practice, kindled a resolute commitment within Charles to aid those who had suffered injuries. He aspired to provide a voice for the voiceless and guide them toward justice when wrongfully injured. It was this unwavering determination that ultimately led him to choose the path of a trial lawyer.
