About Duana Boswell-Loechel

Duana Boswell-Loechel's journey began in Moore, Oklahoma, but took her to League City, Texas during her junior year of high school, where she completed her education at Clear Creek High School. Her academic pursuits led her to Texas A&M University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Biology and Marine Fisheries, as well as the University of Houston Clear Lake, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities. Following her BA, Duana took a hiatus from her studies to start a family.

When her twin daughters turned one, she resumed her education at South Texas College of Law Houston, achieving her JD in 2004. Subsequently, in 2005, she established her private practice in Galveston County, focusing on Probate, Family Law, and Criminal Defense. After the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike in 2009, she decided to close her solo firm. Duana transitioned to working with Lone Star Legal Aid until June 2017, where she held the role of Litigation Director overseeing family law and probate cases. Her caseload included matters such as bankruptcy, Hague cases, landlord-tenant disputes, public and subsidized housing issues, credit card defense, social security and public benefits, foreclosures, and appeals.

Her commitment to pro bono work was recognized by the Texas State Bar in 2009, and her experience in Family Law was acknowledged when she received Board Certification in Family Law from the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in 2015. Her legal prowess also earned her a spot on Houstonia magazine's list of the top 100 lawyers in 2016. Following her successful tenure at Lone Star Legal Aid, Duana went on to serve as the Managing Attorney of the Houston/Clear Lake office at the Texas law firm Bailey & Galyen until December 2018. While at Bailey & Galyen, her primary focus remained on family law cases, and she practiced in various courts across Brazoria, Galveston, and Harris Counties.
