Maribeth Wetzel is a passionate trial attorney dedicated to advocating for individuals facing serious criminal charges in the Tampa Bay area. With a robust background in criminal trial practice, Beth has consistently worked on behalf of the defense. Her expertise extends to departure hearings and assisting individuals dealing with both mental health and substance abuse issues.

Beth pursued her interest in Criminal Justice at Michigan State University before attending law school at the University of Toledo. Upon relocating to Tampa Bay, she commenced her legal career as a public defender in Pinellas County, representing those unable to afford legal representation. In this role, Beth swiftly gained trial experience in misdemeanor, felony, and juvenile courtrooms. Following a stint in complex civil litigation at a defense firm in Tampa, Ms. Wetzel returned to her true passion, criminal defense. She is a member of the Florida Bar and admitted to the U.S. Middle District of Florida.

Beyond her legal work, Ms. Wetzel is deeply connected to the community. She has served on the Board of Directors for Brookwood Florida, a therapeutic home for adolescent girls, mentored children through the non-profit organization Lawyers for Literacy, volunteered as a hearing officer for the Pinellas County Housing Authority, and held an ex-officio position on the Florida Young Lawyers Division Board of Governors. Together with Summer Goldman, Beth co-founded the law firm of Goldman Wetzel, where she concentrates on handling complex and serious criminal offenses, emphasizing trial work. Her practice encompasses a wide range of criminal cases in local, juvenile, state, and federal courts.
