I've been practicing law since 2006. Initially, I had envisioned a career in accounting, a passion that had gripped me since I was 14, sparked by an encounter with an Arthur Andersen partner. However, life had different plans. While in college, one of my accounting professors, recognizing my creative writing skills, suggested I consider law school. The idea was endorsed by my father, holding degrees in both accounting and law. I followed through, gaining admission to UNLV Law with the expectation of delving into transactional or tax law.

During my final year in law school, a car accident seemed inconsequential at first. However, weeks later, I experienced pain and stiffness, prompting me to pursue conservative treatment. Initially skeptical about the value of seeking "Justice," I made the very mistakes I now caution my clients against. Post-law school, my trajectory was geared towards obtaining an LL.M. in taxation. However, a significant deviation occurred when I chose to clerk for my former law school professor, now a bankruptcy judge, Hon. Bruce A. Markell (Ret.). Despite not being a top student, I was offered the position twice. Curiously, I initially declined after failing the bar exam on my first attempt—a decision that turned out to be a fortunate twist of fate. During this clerkship, another compelling opportunity emerged—to clerk for Justice Michael L. Douglas of the Supreme Court of Nevada.
