Hattiesburg General Practice AttorneyAl Shiyou, the founder and principal of Shiyou Law Firm, hails from Pinola, Mississippi. His educational journey includes earning an A.A. degree from Copiah Lincoln Junior College, a B.S. from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Juris Doctorate from Mississippi College School of Law. During his time in law school, Al took on various roles, serving as a probation officer in Hinds County, working as an agent for the Mississippi Alcohol Beverage Control, and gaining experience with Nationwide Insurance Company. Following his graduation, he managed the Trust Department at Trustmark National Bank in Hattiesburg for five years before establishing his own law firm. Since 1987, Al has been actively practicing law in Hattiesburg through Shiyou Law Firm. He holds membership in the Mississippi State Bar and is admitted to practice in all State and Federal courts in Mississippi, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the U.S. Tax Court. Al has successfully presented numerous cases before the Court of Appeals and the Mississippi Supreme Court. Beyond his legal pursuits, Al is deeply involved in local community activities. He actively participates in organizations such as the Pine Burr Area Council and the Boy Scouts of America, where he serves on the Board of Directors and holds the position of Vice President of Endowments. Additionally, he contributes to the Civil Air Patrol as a Major and Deputy Chief of Staff.
