Marla Zide’s calling to law began during childhood, watching her father work as a dedicated attorney and often tagging along on his weekend office visits. A New England native, she relocated to Maryland to attend Goucher College, earning her B.A. in psychology with a minor in Women’s Studies. She went on to earn her J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, where she immersed herself in family law through clinic work and community legal access initiatives like the Maryland Legal Service Network and the People’s Law Library.Since joining the Maryland Bar in 2001, Marla has built her practice around the complexities of family law, representing parents, grandparents, and children in matters involving divorce, custody, visitation, support, and adoption. She has served clients across Anne Arundel County and neighboring jurisdictions. Her distinguished service has earned her sustained recognition—including over a decade of “Super Lawyer” honors and prestigious awards such as the Rosalyn Bell Award and the Daily Record’s Top 100 Women. She remains actively engaged in the Maryland legal community through leadership roles and committee work with the MSBA and other professional organizations.
