About Khaled Issa

I grew up in the southwest suburbs and graduated from Robert Morris University in 2008, where I majored in legal studies and business management. During my undergraduate studies, I clerked for both the Cook County State's Attorney's Office at the Bridgeview courthouse and a private criminal defense firm in downtown Chicago, completing my degree in just two-and-a-half years. I went on to attend The John Marshall Law School/UIC Law School, earning a certificate in Trial Advocacy in 2011. During law school, I was active on mock trial teams, notably reaching the semi-finals in the 2011 Capitol City Challenge in Washington, D.C. I also clerked for the Cook County State's Attorney's Office in the Felony Trial Division, where I gained significant courtroom experience, handling numerous motions and trials.

Before opening my own practice, I was a partner at James A. Payonk, Jr., P.C. for nearly a decade, where I litigated over 100 contested matters, including pre-trial motions, criminal constitutional motions, and bench and jury trials in both criminal defense and personal injury cases. Following Mr. Payonk’s retirement, I took over the practice, committed to continuing the tradition of providing top-notch legal representation.
