From his early years, Erik demonstrated commitment and leadership, qualities evidenced by his attainment of the Eagle Scout rank within the Boy Scouts of America. A graduate of Elkin High School, he excelled as a three-time North Carolina State Tennis Champion. Erik pursued higher education at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he obtained a B.A. in Political Science with a minor in History. His collegiate experience was enriched by an internship at the New Hanover County District Attorney’s Office and a vice-presidential role in the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. Erik's journey in law began at Elon University School of Law, where he contributed as the Treasurer for the Delta Theta Pi Fraternity. Post-law school, Erik returned to Elkin, initially focusing on criminal law. However, his career path took a significant turn as he found his calling in family law, advocating for parents in custody battles against the Department of Social Services. Eventually, Erik moved to Catawba County to lead the family law division at a reputable law firm for four years, honing his skills and establishing a strong reputation in the field. In February 2018 he joined The Olsinski Law Firm, where he continues to champion the rights and interests of individuals in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties concerning various family law issues.
