About Louis Waple

Lou, a lifelong resident of North Carolina, grew up in Fayetteville and pursued higher education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Campbell University, where he earned his law degree. His legal career began in the courtroom, first as an assistant district attorney in Mecklenburg County. He then transitioned to a civil litigation defense firm in 2001, focusing on workers' compensation cases for employers and insurance companies, eventually becoming a partner in a large, multi-state firm.

In 2008, Lou shifted to a statewide personal injury firm, leading their Charlotte office and practicing in workers' compensation claims for injured employees. His experience on both sides of workers' compensation issues, gained in high-volume practice settings, has been instrumental in his current role in a smaller, more client-focused practice. Lou broadened his legal background in 2013, delving into estate matters, particularly guardianship and fiduciary disputes. Leveraging his litigation background, he helps individuals manage health decisions and safeguard assets, especially for those vulnerable to exploitation. Additionally, since 2013, he's been a certified superior court mediator, mediating both personal injury and estate litigation cases. Beyond his professional endeavors, Lou is actively involved in the local community, participating in church activities, the Mecklenburg County Bar, and coaching youth sports. He has also contributed to the Mecklenburg County Bar's Grievance and Fee Dispute Committees, evidencing his commitment to both his profession and community.
