About Dyan Schnaars

Dyan Schnaars, pronounced as Diane SHNAY-ers, was raised in Alexandria, Louisiana, and later relocated to Lafayette in 1995 to pursue her education at UL-Lafayette. Since then, she has made Acadiana her home. Dyan earned her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UL-Lafayette, specializing in Management. She is a distinguished graduate of the Southern University Law Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and has received recognition from the National Scholars Honor Society and the Sigma Alpha Lambda Honors Fraternity. Dyan was also affiliated with the Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, as well as the Christians at Law and Women at Law societies.

In 2014, Dyan made a pivotal decision to focus her legal practice exclusively on Family Law, considering it her true calling. She is an active member of the Louisiana State Bar Association (LSBA) and the Lafayette Parish Bar Association (LBA). Additionally, she served for three years on the Executive Committee of the Paula K. Woodruff Family Law Section of the Lafayette Parish Bar Association. Dyan has a long history of community involvement, having served as the Management Development Vice President for two years in the Alexandria Chapter of the Louisiana Junior Chamber of Commerce. She frequently engages with local Divorce Care Groups and Children's Advocacy Groups, sharing her expertise.

Recognized for her commitment to public service, Dyan received the Pro Bono Publico Award in 2015 from the Louisiana State Bar Association. The Lafayette Parish Bar Association (LBA) has honored her with the Outstanding Attorney Award for six consecutive years in recognition of her pro bono work. Dyan has also been acknowledged as one of NAFLA's Top 10 Attorneys under 40.
