Shane M. Boasberg was born and raised in New Orleans, LA, and moved to Austin, TX, to attend The University of Texas. After earning undergraduate degrees in Government and Business, he attended South Texas College of Law in Houston. Shane graduated from South Texas College of Law in 2002 and quickly made an impact in the legal field. He began his career at Heard, Robins, Cloud, Lubel, and Greenwood LLP in Houston before returning to Austin in 2003 to serve as General Counsel to Senator Mario Gallegos at the Texas Senate. In this role, Shane provided legal advice, prepared opinions, bill analyses, briefs, and drafted bills and amendments for legislative consideration.Following his tenure with Senator Gallegos, Shane worked for the Texas Office of the Attorney General, where he represented TxDOT in resolving various contractual, construction, and engineering disputes. He also worked on legal and political issues, including transportation, employment, environmental, and eminent domain law, while serving as Legislative Liaison between the Texas Attorney General’s Transportation Division and the Texas Legislature.In 2010, Shane opened SMB Law, PC in Austin, TX, representing clients residing in Travis, Williamson, and Hays Counties. Although he has handled various civil cases, his primary focus is civil litigation in family law and personal injury law. Shane is an active member of the Texas State Bar, the Austin Bar Association, and the Capital Area Trial Lawyers Association. He was named to Texas Monthly’s “Rising Stars” list for 2012 and 2014-2016, an honor given to only 2.5% of Texas attorneys.
