Atlanta Family Law AttorneyEquipped with ample experience as a litigator, mediator, and lecturer, Attorney Emily Yu is the proud founder of Yu Family Law. Emily is actively involved in her community, acting as a Guardian ad Litem and advocating for victims of domestic violence. Ms. Yu prides herself in being a powerful force in the courtroom while also being incredibly empathetic and accessible to her clients. Practicing exclusively in family law, Emily Yu helps clients resolve complex matters of child custody, modifications, contempt of court, and high-asset divorces. Emily obtained her undergraduate degree at Columbia University, with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus on child development, before obtaining her law degree from Emory University School of Law. After earning her J.D. from Emory School of Law, Attorney Yu became a certified General Civil and Domestic Mediator and Guardian Ad Litem. Emily Yu also serves on the Board of Directors for the Family Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association, is an active member of the Georgia Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and frequently volunteers her time and services with the Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation. Emily has been named as one of Georgia’s Rising Stars by Super Lawyers – a prestigious peer-nominated designation that honors only 2.5% of selected attorneys in the State - consistently since 2015. Among many other accolades, Emily Yu has also been named as a “Top 40 Under 40” by The National Advocates, Top 10 Female Family Law Attorney by Attorney and Practice Magazine, has received the Elite Lawyer Award by Elite Lawyer, and has been featured in The Atlantan Magazine as one of Atlanta's Women of Power and Influence, as well as a 2021 Power Player in Law.
